The minimum amount of sponsorship is £50, but we hope participants will exceed this amount. Here are some tips on how to maximise the potential fundraising to increase the amount you raised for Project WaterFall.

  • Set up your individual fundraising page on The Big Challenge MyDonate web page on https://mydonate.bt.com/events/thebigchallenge/62505

  • Let people know you are walking via your Facebook page and provide a link to your Mydonate fundraising page
  • Use Twitter to tweet about your training plan and encourage people to support you and Project Waterfall
  • Spread the word via other social media sites, such as LinkedIn. If you use Digg or Stumbleupon, post a link to Project Waterfall or your MyDonate fundraising page
  • Suggest to friends and colleagues that they each raise e.g. £25 on your behalf by asking their friends and family
  • Find a generous sponsor to start your online fundraising and sponsorship forms, as this will encourage other sponsors to be generous
  • Encourage friends and contacts to increase sponsorship depending on how much water you carry. The more you carry, the more representative it will be of the task faced by women and children in Africa each day
  • Post yourself on YouTube, showing people you are training and encouraging them to sponsor you
  • Ask your company if they will match your sponsorship amount
  • Ask the organisation you work for if you can add a tag to your email signature
  • Ask your colleagues if they would like to do The Big Challenge or volunteer as marshals
