Clean drinking water is a basic human right which every person in the world should have access to.

Project Waterfall is an initiative developed by the Allegra Foundation (registered charity: 1133540) to bring clean water to the communities which grow our coffee.

Since 2011, Project Waterfall has raised over £800,000 and delivered clean drinking water to over 27,000 people in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Vietnam and Nicaragua.

Donations from UK Coffee Week 2017 have been used to fund a tri-country education project in schools across Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya, in partnership with Wateraid UK.  Access to a clean water source in schools mean children can spend more time learning and improved hygiene leads to less disease, increased attendance and increased performance. Combined, this leads to economic growth and a brighter future for the whole community.

Project Waterfall's investment using funds from UK Coffee Week 2017 will directly support 2,462 children and teachers with access to clean water and sanitation.
