BRITA Professional: Headline Sponsor for Sixth Year

We are delighted to affirm that BRITA Professional is, for the sixth year, proudly supporting UK Coffee Week for 2020 as Headline sponsor.

By investing in sponsorship, which helps run UK Coffee Week, BRITA has enabled the campaign to raise over £600,500 since our partnership began in 2015, supporting nearly 18,000 people across five of Project Waterfall’s Projects:
• Burie Woreda, Amhara, Ethiopia in partnership with WaterAid
• Kibebe Tsehay Orphanage, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in partnership with Splash
• Toke Kayute and Chelia districts, Oromia region, Ethiopia in partnership with WaterAid
• Tri country project, Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda in partnership with WaterAid
• Our current project in Jabi Tehnan, Amhara, Ethiopia in partnership with WaterAid

Here’s why BRITA Professional is involved in the campaign and why we’re proud to have them support us!

Why did you get involved in UK Coffee Week?

By supporting Project Waterfall we are helping provide clean water and sanitation for the coffee growing communities who make our daily cup of coffee possible as well as raising awareness of the charity’s work. It’s vital that we give back to these communities that help to build and shape our industry.

What do you enjoy most about the week and why?

All the activities that take place through the week provide a fun and inclusive way of highlighting the daily struggles faced by some communities in the world just to access clean water. It’s always great to see the huge number of businesses coming together to raise money for such an important cause in our industry.

UK Coffee Week is now in its 10th year… In the past decade what have been the biggest changes you’ve seen in the UK coffee industry?

One of the key changes we have seen is the consumers desire for vastly improved coffee quality out of home and in the workplace and their desire to pay for it. Coffee roasters and end users have had to up their game due to consumer demand and knowledge and this is still continuing now.

What are your plans for your 2020 involvement?

BRITA are taking part in a number of activities throughout UK Coffee Week. We will be providing filtered water for several station activations so consumers can enjoy the best tasting coffee, taking part in talks to educate the industry on the importance of water when making coffee, as well as internal BRITA fundraising events throughout the week, all with the aim of raising as much money for Project Waterfall as possible.

A little more about BRITA Professional

BRITA Professional products are designed to produce the best filtered water for hot beverage preparation by reducing particles, metals, minerals and chlorine that have an unfavourable impact on the taste, appearance and aroma of the final cup. Our family-owned company was founded more than 50 years ago  and we are now one of the leading experts in the field of water filtration.

We are a business built on sustainability and are consistently developing new initiatives, such as a designated ‘green team’ and waste facilities on site, which turns waste into renewable energy.

We are passionate about what we do and strive to share this passion with our customers. We are not only about product, but also service and knowledge-sharing. The rising demand for higher quality coffee means that roasters and barista’s alike have a real desire to understand water and how it can help them to consistently produce the best tasting coffee. BRITA offer bespoke training sessions on water and its impact on hot beverages and equipment, helping people to get the best out of their beverages and to make good coffee taste great.
