Hosting a special event for UK Coffee Week is a great way to bring your local community together and have fun. Donate part or all of the money made from ticket sales to Project Waterfall to help transform the lives of coffee-growing communities.

The type of event will help determine the price of a ticket. We recommend charging £10-15 per person. You could have a discount for group bookings to encourage more people to come along.

Some ideas to get you planning

Run a paid workshop - run a latte art for beginners session.

Pastry/bread making class – known for your delicious cakes and bread? Teach your customers how to make them at home and give a prize for the best treat cooked.

Coffee cocktail masterclass - open late? Teach your customers how to make their own Espresso Martinis, White Russians and more.

Film night – there are so many films with iconic coffee scenes so why not run a movie night? Donate the cost of the ticket which could include a free coffee and snack.

Games night – dig out your favourite board, card and video games and host a fun-filled evening, maybe accompanied by some coffee cocktails.

Cupping 101 – run a special cupping session with coffees from countries that Project Waterfall have completed projects in. See the map of countries on Project Waterfall’s website here.

Latte art competition – get the baristas in your local area together and have a latte art smackdown!

• Coffee-themed open mic night - challenge local musicians to write and perform a song related to coffee for a UK Coffee Week open mic night. Charge a small fee for entry and donate a portion of drinks or food sold during the event to Project Waterfall.

• Big Coffee Quiz - run a quiz night with teams paying a fee for entry, we recommend £2 per player, with the fee going straight to Project Waterfall.
