NaturePac: New Partnership

We are so happy to announce our latest partnership with NaturePac, a company eager and excited to give back to coffee-growing communities by working with UK Coffee Week!

Here’s why NaturePac is involved in the campaign and why we’re proud to have them support us!

Why did you get involved in UK Coffee Week?

Project Waterfall aims to bring clean water, sanitation and education to coffee-growing communities across the world and UK Coffee Week provides the moment in which consumers can pause, and talk about that, as part of their daily routine.

Here at NaturePac, we decided not just to talk about it…  instead we wanted to BE about it.

We’re hyper-aware of what happens to our products at their end-of-life. We’re pushing so hard for thoughtful and sensitive consumption and waste management, we’d love to have a healthy impact on what goes into our cups before they’re discarded too.

We have a duty to be involved in UK Coffee Week because the objective is so inspiring and also… it’s good fun to be involved in the popular conversation online.

What do you enjoy most about the week and why?

It’s the cultural awakening. The awareness that spreads as a direct result of the campaign. Where does this delicious coffee (which I buy every day) actually come from? What does that process mean to us? It’s the opportunity to think about our daily behaviours, and actually make a difference, if we can.

It also feels good to be a part of something so important.

UK Coffee Week is now in its 10th year… In the past decade what have been the biggest changes you’ve seen in the UK coffee industry?

From our perspective, it’s the takeaway packaging and the (relatively new) user-expectation for that packaging to be sensitive to the environment in some way. There’s a tangible appetite among modern consumers to support sustainable products wherever possible… and that knowledge and demand simply didn’t exist 10 years ago. Our vision for the perfect packaging is evolving all the time, we expect things to continue changing with an increasing speed and urgency.

What are your plans for your 2020 involvement?

We’ll be supplying around 5,000 of our compostable cups to 3 Network Rail stations. We may also be involved in 3 Source-Salvage Events, supplying around 200 cups per event. We’re also supplying around 2,000 of our compostable cups for a one-day event at ‘Coffee Village’ the details of which are yet to be disclosed.

More about NaturePac

Here at NaturePac we're on a mission to keep Britain beautiful. We're constantly standing on the edge of what's possible in sustainable packaging and we're continually testing the boundaries of where we go from here. We hope to keep pushing for thoughtful and enlightened consumption of food-to-go items, until every packaging solution is designed for, by and with the surrounding environment.

The only way to do that... is together.

The literal and increasing hunger for street-food is matched only by the growing awareness of how we're managing the waste it generates, specifically... complex plastics.

Our current efforts are fuelled by the need to do things differently. Conscious consumers are now enlightened and while we’re leading the charge here at NaturePac, we have a lot of work to do… together, if we're ever going to match the developing demand.
