Celebrating ten years of UK Coffee Week – over £800,000 raised and 45,000 lives changed.

Next week UK Coffee Week 2021 will mark its second decade. So far the funds raised during the campaign have helped fund 13 projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Nicaragua, Tanzania and Uganda, and this year it aims to hit its target of raising £1 million for charity Project Waterfall, helping to change lives in coffee-growing communities.

Project Waterfall was founded in 2011 to provide the coffee industry with a charity dedicated to supporting the communities that make our businesses possible. It’s fundraising campaign UK Coffee Week was also established then, providing a platform to unite the industry and a dedicated week to raise funds for coffee-growing communities.

Every year since then, UK Coffee Week supporters have raised money for Project Waterfall in a variety of ways from donating 10p on every coffee served, 50p per 250g bag sold, to holding events, competitions, and raffles.

The cause

Project Waterfall works with trusted partners who understand and listen to the communities they work with to find the best solution.

Access to clean water changes everything. Child mortality rates drop. Girls can spend more time in school and women can start their own businesses.
