Espresso Martinis have been named the nation’s favourite cocktail, beating other popular choices such as Strawberry Daiquiris, Mojitos and Pina Coladas, new data reveals.
The Cocktail Championship study by Just Eat for Business reveals which cocktails and mocktails are the nation’s go-to on a night out - including the most popular spirits and fruit accompaniments.
The Espresso Martini was found to boast the highest average rating across the number of recipes featured on the site, making it the standout favourite, followed by other staples like Mojitos, Pina Coladas, Sex on the Beach and Long Island Iced Teas.
Espresso Martini recipe
60ml Vodka (or switch to good quality Spiced Rum).
30ml Hot Espresso Coffee.
15ml Coffee Liqueur eg. Kahlua for sweeter version or Tia Maria for less sweet.
7.5ml Sugar Syrup.
Garnish: 3 Coffee Beans
Add all to the shaker half filled with ice, shake for 20 seconds, double strain into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with Coffee beans in a corner of glass in a triangle shape to represent Love, Happiness and Prosperity.
