Why did you get involved in UK Coffee Week?
We think UK Coffee Week is a super-important project helping to bring clean water, sanitation and education to coffee-growing communities across the world. It’s the right thing to do.
What do you enjoy most about the week and why?
UK Coffee week is a chance to learn more about coffee and meet some of the fantastic people who work in coffee across the country. People who work in coffee really are the nicest and most interesting folk.
UK Coffee Week is now in its 10th year… In the past decade what have been the biggest changes you’ve seen in the UK coffee industry?
One of the biggest changes we’ve seen in the boom in high quality, speciality coffee. Fantastic tasting and responsibly sourced coffee is now more available than ever before.
What are your plans for your 2020 involvement?
We want to get out an about, visiting as many of our Independent Coffee Guide member cafes and roasters as possible in search for that perfect coffee experience.

A little more about the Independent Coffee Guide
The independent Coffee Guide showcases the best cafes and roasters from across the UK and Ireland. And after travelling across the country looking for that perfect coffee experience, we realised there was a demand for high quality speciality coffee, sourced direct from the best roasters and delivered straight to your door.
So we created the Indy Coffee Box. A monthly curation of beans from the UK and Ireland’s best roasters, Indy Coffee Box lets coffee lovers discover different roasters, different coffees and take the equivalent of a coffee road trip each month.
The Indy Coffee Box team know that freshness is key to a fantastic cup, which is why the two, three or four-bag boxes are delivered to coffee lovers’ doors within days of roasting. A strictly whole-bean set-up also ensures lip-smackingly fresh beans which arrive in the roasters’ original 250g bags. This means less waste and showcases the creative design of indie coffee bags. The eye-catching boxes also include a copy of Brew - a monthly journal packed with tasting notes, roaster interviews, recipes and interesting stuff from the caffeine scene.
