Why Costa Coffee supports UK Coffee Week

We are delighted to confirm our continued partnership with Costa Coffee, who are proudly supporting the campaign and helping us broaden the reach of UK Coffee Week even further!

Here’s why Costa Coffee is involved in the campaign and why we’re proud to have them support us!

Why did you get involved in UK Coffee Week?

As the nation’s favourite coffee retailer, it is important to celebrate all the great things about coffee and the people who work in the coffee industry, as well as engaging all the millions of people who love drinking our coffee in store or from our Express machines. Costa Coffee is delighted to be supporting the amazing work of Project Waterfall – we have our own Costa Foundation which builds schools and provides safe and quality education to children in coffee growing communities in 10 countries across the world, so we know how important it is that these communities have access to clean water and sanitation.

What do you enjoy most about the week and why?

We enjoy supporting the week as it brings togetherness to the UK coffee industry, showcasing the very best it has to offer, whilst making a fundamental difference to the lives of 1000s in coffee growing communities through the huge fundraising efforts for Project Waterfall.

UK Coffee Week is now in its 10th year… In the past decade what have been the biggest changes you have seen in the UK coffee industry?

The UK Coffee industry continues to grow rapidly, amidst changing consumer habits and decline in high street footfall. The industry continues to evolve and at Costa Coffee we focus on our innovation to ensure we continue to get quality coffee into more hands, more often.

What are your plans for your 2020 involvement?

We’ll be getting involved in fundraising efforts for Project Waterfall during UK Coffee Week through a range of in store and social activity to highlight the work being done to bring clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities.

A little more about the Costa Foundation
The Costa Foundation is an independent charity, powered by the real passion of the Costa Coffee team members across our business.

Founded in 2007, the Costa Foundation has so far given over 85,000 children the opportunity to gain a life-changing education. We have helped to fund the construction of more than 85 school projects in 10 different countries.

These schools are built in some of the most remote communities in the world, with their locations carefully chosen to provide support to the people we rely on to keep our business going: coffee growers!

We believe that all children should have the best possible start in life, and that no child’s dreams should be written off because of where they were born.

The Costa Foundation is a big part of our Costa Coffee DNA. That means every single person who works for our business has an important role to play in making sure that we can continue to change children’s life stories in the years to come.
